Harald Math – Etcetera, Etcetera

My good friend Jonty has written an album and I have been helping him record it. I have previously posted 3 teaser tracks, but now I can point you in the direction of the album in its entirety. Think Reuben, think Deftones, think Million Dead, think summer pop singles and definitely think Yugoslavia. Harald Math’s ‘Etcetera, Etcetera’ is available for free download here:

All art by Lisa Thompson. Bloody lovely art too.

Licking the lid of cynicism

Posted in Other with tags , , on February 29, 2012 by innothingwetrust

Dear reader,

Welcome to my blog. Now, as ridiculous a word ‘blog’ is, they are also a useful way for me to share my opinions and stuff that I think is well cool, debate issues and topics that I think are important as well as vent my insatiable cynicism for those things in life which are just asking to be poked in the eye with a sharp stick. Some things are born ridiculous. Some acheive ridicule. I am here to thrust ridicule upon all of them.

I have set this up with 10 initial categories – Advertising & Television, Animal Rights, Film Reviews, Football, Homophobia, Music, Other, Philosophy, Religion and Sexism. These are probably the topics that I find most interesting to talk about (except for ‘Other’…), although undoubtedly some will be added or removed as I get a feel for how this blog is going to turn out.

As well as an outpouring of opinion, I also intend this to to aid my own personal development and so I actively encourage anyone and everyone reading this to challenge my views if you disagree with them. I love a good debate so I welcome all viewpoints.

I will also be reviewing every single film I see from now on, even if it is just one line like “I can’t even be bothered to deconstruct that turd, truly one of the worst films I’ve ever seen”. However, I watched Transformers 2 a long time ago and so will not be putting that review up. I will get the ball rolling shortly with one such review of the last film that I saw which was The Descendants. I shall also add a review of the album which inspired the title of this blog.

The title is taken from the third – and probably the best – album by one of my favourite bands, Reuben. As well as referring to an absolutely fantastic record and band, I feel it also embodies the need to always question what is presented to you – from your surroundings to what people expect of you to the items you see on the news to what is right and wrong. I think the scurge of this world is that people do not think enough, and this colletion of scribblings represents my attempt to redress the balance, even if I am only one person. I also think it’s just a cool title.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my ramblings and feel compelled to contribute. And maybe even return now and then.

Ciao for now,
